Alexander Salter

PhD Fellow

Alexander Salter is a third year PhD student in the Department of Economics at George Mason University. Alexander earned his degree in economics from Occidental College where he also worked as a research assistant on a project which examined the mechanics of internet advertising. Alexander’s research interests include Industrial Organization and Monetary Economics. Alex’s research has been published in the Review of Austrian Economics and the Libertarian Papers.

Bagus and Howden argue that price stickiness is a poor justification for advocating a flexible money supply through the issuing of fiduciary media under central or free banking. We show that even if all prices were perfectly flexible, changes in the money supply to offset changes in money demand might still be desirable.

I build on Christoyannopoulous’s (2011) compendium of Christian anarchist thought to shed light on the divergence between Christian anarcho-communitarians and Christian anarcho-capitalists. The anarcho-communitarians believe the institution of private property is contrary to the Word of Christ, while the anarcho-capitalists hold it is justifiable.
