Laura Grube is interested in Austrian Economics, Public Choice, Economic Development, and Social Change. Laura graduated from Beloit College in 2008 with a major in Economics and Management and a minor in African Studies. As an undergraduate, she was drawn to economics by Professor Emily Chamlee-Wright. Other highlights of Laura’s college experience include working on the Mercatus Center’s Katrina Project, participating in the Koch Summer Fellowship Program, and studying abroad in South Africa (SIT Reconciliation and Development Program in Durban, South Africa). Following graduation, Laura received a Fulbright Scholarship to study land reform and traditional government in South Africa. During this time she worked with the Free Market Foundation of Southern Africa. Prior to her Mercatus PhD Fellowship, Laura worked as a business consultant in St. Louis, Missouri, supporting ERP system implementations as well as smaller web-based applications for clients in aerospace and defense and agribusiness.
