Scott Beaulier

Scott Beaulier is the Adams-Bibby Chair of Free Enterprise and Associate Professor of Economics at Troy University.  He is also the the Executive Director of Troy University's Manuel H. Johnson Center for Political Economy.

Previously, Dr. Beaulier was Assistant Professor of Economics and Chair of the Economics Department in Mercer University's Stetson School of Business and Economics. 

Most of his work focuses on Applied Microeconomics, Development Economics, and Political Economy.

Before coming to Mercer University, he completed his Ph.D. work at George Mason University.

Fiscal policy at both the federal and state levels is on an unsustainable path. Entitlement reform in America—particularly Medicaid reform—is shifting from a question of whether cuts should be made, to how much must be cut? To better understand best practices in Medicaid reform, we explore five recent state-level Medicaid reforms and their ability to simultaneously reduce costs, maintain or increase access, and survive the politics of reform.
